Senator Mike Walsworth is a
lifelong resident of Northeast, Louisiana. He has one daughter, Lindsay, who
attends the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Mike is a graduate of Leadership
Ouachita and Leadership Louisiana. He is active in a number of organizations.
Mike is a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ, where he serves as song
leader. Mike is also a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University.
Senator Walsworth was first
elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 1995 and re-elected in 1999
and 2003. He currently serves on the Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and
Rural Development, Vice Chair Finance Labor and Industrial Relations Senate and
Governmental Affairs Select Committee on Homeland Security, Chairman Joint
Legislative Committee on the Budget. Mike previously served as the Vice Chairman
of the Civil Law and Procedure Committee and was a member of the House and
Governmental Affairs and Judiciary Committees. Mike was a past Chairman of the
Republican Legislative Delegation. Senator Walsworth has won several legislative
honors for his pro-business and anti-tax support.
